Cannot use Trend Micro Guardian, Incorrect child device

You see this error message on your Trend Micro Home Network Security app:

"Unable to use the Guardian app"

Why did this happen?

Your child's mobile device has the same name with other devices in your Trend Micro Home Network Security profile list.

What should I do next?

Pair your Trend Micro Home Network Security app to the correct child device.:

Check device MAC Address

Expand All

On your child's Android phone or tablet

1. Tap the Settings app.
2. Tap About Phone or About Device.
3. Tap Status or Hardware Information.
4. Scroll down to see your Wi-Fi MAC address.

On your child's iPhone or iPad

1. Tap Settings.
2. Tap General.
3. Tap About. The MAC address is listed as Wi-Fi Address.

Create a unique device name

1. Open the Home Network Security app on your mobile device.
2. Tap the Menu icon you see on the upper left, then tap Devices.
3. Tap Devices.
4. Tap the device you want to assign.
5. Tap Owner.
6. Tap Add Someone to create a new unique device name.
