Resetting your web browsers can fix website redirection and performance issues due to malware infection and not regularly clearing browser cache files and history.

Before you proceed:

Back up your favorites/bookmarks. This procedure will uninstall add-ons, delete browser history, reset your homepage and remove all custom settings.

For Safari

Set your Homepage
  1. Open Safari.
  2. Click Safari beside the Apple icon and select Preferences.
  3. Click General and set your Homepage to your desired start page. (Example: wwww.google.com)
Remove cookies and caches
  1. Under Safari Preferences Window, click Privacy.
  2. Click Manage Website Data...
  3. Click Remove all.
Remove permissions
  1. Under Safari Preferences Window, click Websites.
  2. Check each categories on the left pane and remove all permission for any unfamiliar websites.
Clear caches
  1. Under Safari Preferences Window, click Advanced.
  2. Check the Show Develop menu in menu bar option.
  3. From the menu bar, select Develop.
  4. Click Empty Caches.

For Google Chrome

  1. Open Google Chrome.
  2. Go to > Settings.
  3. At the bottom of the page, click Advanced.
  4. Scroll down, then click Restore settings to their original defaults.
  5. Click Reset Settings.

For Mozilla Firefox

  1. Open Mozilla Firefox.
  2. Go to > Help.
  3. Click Troubleshooting Information.
  4. Click Refresh Firefox.
  5. Click Finish.
