It is necessary to collect this data to provide the security functions of this product. Therefore, you cannot disable these features. If you do not want Trend Micro to access this data, you should uninstall and stop using the product.

Content for AI Agent Kaleida

Kaleida is an AI agent at Trend Micro TrendLife. Kaleida collects data from the content of the user’s conversation. These data will be shared with the user’s family in managing family schedules and notifying family members of certain user events, achievements, and daily activities. Kaleida will share these inferencing data with the main plan owner user when Kaleida provides the family weekly status or the user directly interacts with Kaleida for family status. All the other family members are also able to fetch these shared inferencing results when they proactively ask Kaleida.

The Kaleida AI Agent includes the following capability to help user’s family:
  • Privacy Shield – Trend Micro will mask and de-identify personal identified within a user’s message before the query is transmitted to external LLMs. This process occurs in-transit and no identifiable data is retained after masking
  • Family Intelligence – Learns and retains individual habits, preferences, and schedules through ongoing conversations with each family member. Each member's memory profile is independent and predefined categories of data are shared with the whole family by default. The data is only shared with other family members, and user can choose to delete or modify the inferencing result.
  • Learning Buddy (for Children) - Responds to children's questions in a manner designed to foster critical thinking and reduce AI dependency. A weekly summary describing the child's general habits and learning engagement (not scores or grades) is provided to the parent or main plan owner.
  • Safe AI Automator (Assist Mode) - When a user requests help completing a task, Kaleida generates and presents a list of actionable options for the user to review and select from. Kaleida does not autonomously execute actions on behalf of the user. The user retains full control over all decisions.
  • AI Orchestration - Automatically analyzes the nature of each user query and routes it to the most appropriate AI model or service.
DATA COLLECTED Data collection occurs when:
  1. A signed-in user actively sends messages with Kaleida within the Trend Micro TrendLife application
  2. A signed-in user actively uploads an image or a PDF file to Kaleida within the Trend Micro TrendLife application
  3. A signed-in child user interacts with Learning Buddy feature.

The following data are collected by Kaleida from data/information that the user shares with the Agent, including prompts, Agent responses, user uploaded files, user “like” and “dislike” clicks
  • Conversation content - the text and context of messages exchanged between the user and Kaleida.
  • Users under the age of 18 interaction data - conversation content and inferred learning habits from child users interacting with the Learning Buddy sub-feature.
  • Inferred user data which is default sharing to whole user family - information derived from conversation content, including:
    • Personal health information
    • User’s Symptoms or illness status
    • Diet restrictions or medical equipment needs
    • Study and work status
    • Completed assignments or achievements in study and work
    • School activities
    • Support for academic struggling
    • Family events
    • Food preference
    • Dietary habits
    • Family Routines

Geolocation

DESCRIPTION Trend Micro TrendLife will import Google Maps and help the user show the specific route information when the user inquires.

Third Party Service - Google Calendar

DESCRIPTION Trend Micro TrendLife will request Google Calendar services permission to share calendar events to user’s family. This helps the user organize and manage their schedule.  This access allows the application to read, create, modify, or interact with user’s calendar events on user’s behalf. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Trend Micro does not use the data to develop, improve, or train generalized AI/ML models, nor do we use it for targeted advertising or user profiling.

Third Party Service

DESCRIPTION Kaleida will use API to execute third party services for user as the assistant. When the user requests Kaleida to control or help user to handle and operate the third-party services within Trend Micro TrendLife. Users have to provide these third-party service token to Trend Micro TrendLife as an assistant. These sensitive data will be encrypted using AES-256-GCM and will not be provided to the AI Agent. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
DATA COLLECTED When the user wishes to control the third party service or fetch the related status by using Kaleida as the assistant. User proactively provides these tokens in Trend Micro TrendLife App settings manually.

These third-party tokens include:

  • Sesame Access Token
