You may encounter issues updating Trend Micro Security for Windows. See below for some of the problems customers have encountered:

Update hangs

  1. Open the Trend Micro Diagnostic Toolkit:
    1. On your keyboard, press the Windows Windows Key + R keys. The Run window should be open.
    2. In the Open field, type supporttool.exe, then press ENTER. The Trend Micro Diagnostic Toolkit should open.
  2. Click the (C) Uninstall tab.
  3. Click 5. Stop all components.
  4. Wait for 10 seconds.
  5. Click 4. Start all components.
  6. Open the Trend Micro Security program again.
  7. Perform a manual update.
