You see this error message while activating Trend Micro Password Manager:

"This code is linked to a Trend Micro account."

Why did this happen?

An Existing or Different Trend Micro Account already used the Activation Code or Key.

What should I do next?

If you are using the same Activation Key with an Existing Trend Micro Account, you do not need to activate it. It is already registered with the same Activation Code.

If you need to activate it to a Different Trend Micro Account:

  1. Open your web browser, then click the Password Manager icon.

  2. Click the User icon you see at the top right corner, then click Sign Out.

  3. Click Start Now.
  4. Sign in to your other Trend Micro Account.
    Note: Logging in the correct Trend Micro account will not migrate your saved passwords.
