DHCP Mode Overview
DHCP Mode (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) allows Home Network Security to manage device IP addresses by hosting its own DHCP server.
Steps to Configure DHCP Mode
- Ensure your Home Network Security Station is powered on and connected to your home router.
- Open the Home Network Security app on your mobile device.
- Tap the Menu icon and select Settings.
- Choose Station Configuration.
- Under STATION NETWORK SETTINGS, choose DHCP Mode.
- Note down your Router IP Address and Station IP Address, then click Next.
- On your computer or mobile device, open a web browser (Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Mozilla Firefox).
- Type the Router IP address you noted earlier into the address bar and press ENTER.
- Log in to the Admin console with your router's username and password.
- Navigate to the top menu, select Settings, then choose Network.
- Click on Advanced Settings and set the DHCP Server status to Disabled.
- Restart your router by following these steps:
- Disconnect the power cord from the router and ensure the front panel lights are off.
- Wait for one minute, then reconnect the power cord to the router.
- Reopen the Home Network Security app and check for the "Devices Protected" status.
