You received the following error message when trying to sign in to your Trend Micro account:

"Unable to contact Trend Micro. Please check your Internet connection and try again."

You may encounter this issue due to the following conditions:

  • Time and Date is incorrect
  • You are not connected to the internet
  • Your Wi-Fi network is unstable
  • Your Wi-Fi network is unsafe or blocked

Enable Automatic Date and Time
  1. On the bottom-right corner of the screen, right-click the time, then select Adjust Date/Time.
  2. From the settings window, click Date & time, then select the box for Set Time Automatically.
Connect your computer to the Internet
  1. On the bottom-right corner of the taskbar, click the wireless icon.
  2. From the list, select your preferred wireless connection.
  3. Select the box for Connect automatically (optional).
  4. Click Connect.
  5. Enter the network security key or the password.
  6. Click Next.

    Make sure to enter the correct credentials for the connection to be successful.

Switch to a safe Wi-Fi network
  1. On the bottom-right corner of the taskbar, click the wireless icon.
  2. From the list, select your preferred wireless connection. Make sure to select a known and secured Wi-Fi.
