Keeping your Family Circle updated means your loved ones stay protected from phone and SMS scams in Trend Micro ScamCheck. Here’s how to add new members, remove someone, or re-invite someone you previously removed.

How to Invite a Family Member

Follow the steps below to invite a family member to your Family Circle:

  1. Open the app and go to Family Circle.
  2. Tap Invite or View Details.
  3. Tap Invite Member.
  4. Enter the member’s name to create a profile.
  5. Tap Invite.
  6. Choose how you want to invite the member:
    1. Scan the Code
    2. Send a Text Message

Invite via QR Code

  1. Ask the invited member to scan the QR code to download and install the app.
  2. Provide the invitation code shown on your screen. The invited member will use this during setup.

Invite via Text Message

  1. Tap Send a Text Message.
  2. Select an app to share the invitation, or tap Copy to share it manually.
  3. Send the invitation to the family member.
  4. The invited member will receive a link to download the app and an invitation code.

Steps for the Invited Member

  1. Download and install the app using the link or QR code provided by the organizer.
  2. Open the app and tap Get Started.
  3. Select Invited by Family.
  4. Enter the invitation code shared by the organizer.
  5. Tap Next to join the Family Circle.

Can’t Find the Code Entry Page?

If the code entry screen does not appear during setup:

  1. Open the app.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Tap Use Invitation Code.
  4. Enter the invitation code.

Remove a Member from Your Family Circle

If you no longer want someone in your Circle, you can remove them anytime.

  1. Open the Trend Micro ScamCheck app.
  2. Go to Family Circle.
  3. Select the member you want to remove.
  4. Tap the Settings (gear icon) in the top-right corner.
  5. Choose Remove [member name].


Removing someone will stop protection sharing and scam alerts for that person.

Re-Invite a Removed Member

You can easily re-add a member you’ve removed before.

  1. Open the Trend Micro ScamCheck app.
  2. Go to Family Circle.
  3. Tap Invite Member.
  4. If you already created a profile for them, you’ll see their name under Suggested.
  5. Tap Invite to send them a new link.
  6. If their name does not appear, create a new profile and invite them again.
