Trend Micro Guardian App automatically collects and transmits the following data, some of which may be considered personal data in certain jurisdictions, after installing/enabling the product. It is necessary to collect this data to provide the security functions on this product. Therefore, you cannot disable these features. If you do not want Trend Micro to access this data, you should uninstall and stop using the product.

Pairing with Home Network Security

DESCRIPTION

After the Guardian app is installed and paired, an identifier for the device it is installed on is generated and transmitted to Trend Micro for the purpose of linking it to a Home Network Security installation.

Crash / issue logs (auto-feedback) collects crash / issue logs in real-time for problems where there may be timing issues and logs may be difficult to collect manually.

You can disable any of these features at any time to prevent the corresponding data from being sent to Trend Micro.

Web Threat Protection

DESCRIPTION

Disabling Web Threat Protection prevents this data from being sent to Trend Micro, but disabling this setting will greatly impact the ability to detect C&C and malicious activities.

Website Filtering

DESCRIPTION

When the Trend Micro Guardian app is installed and paired with the parent’s Home Network Security app, and the website is blocked by the Web Filtering Feature, the device’s website browsing history will be transmitted. Data transmission will stop when the Guardian app is removed from the child’s device.

When a website is filtered by the Website Filtering Feature, the following data points are collected:

  • IP Address
  • URL

DESCRIPTION

The data collected in "Send Troubleshooting Logs" helps Trend Micro’s Support team conduct troubleshooting. The data collected by this feature is not used for anything other than this purpose.
