This article answers frequently asked questions about Trend Micro Cleaner One for iOS.
I have a special preference to the old version, is it possible for me to download the previous Dr. Cleaner from App Store?
It is not possible to change back the app to its previous version in App Store (the only platform wherein we officially release our products). If you do not want to upgrade the application, you can dismiss auto update on the Settings of your device.

What if I don’t want to upgrade the app to the latest version?
Dismiss Auto-Update on the Settings:
- Go to Settings.
- Tap iTunes & App Store.
- Turn off App Updates.
When you turn off automatic updates, you will receive notifications from App Store each time an update is released on one of your apps.
Why did the One Click Storage Cleanup function disappear after updating the app to the latest version?
The One Click Storage Cleanup function has been removed in version 1.9.14 and was also not included in the latest version of 2.0.0 because it is against Apple’s policy.
I was a paying customer of the Dr. Cleaner app before, will I still have the same privilege after upgrading the app to Cleaner One?
- If you are subscribed to the lifetime subscription of the Dr. Cleaner Pro through in-app purchase in App Store, you can restore the subscription by making sure that the same Apple ID used for the purchase is signed in.
- If you are subscribed monthly or annually, you can restore the previously purchased subscription and unlock the features of the Pro version as long the subscription is still valid.
To restore your purchase, tap on the Settings icon at the top right corner and then “Restore”.
- If you were subscribed monthly or annually, but it has already expired and you failed to renew your subscription, you can no longer use the features available for the Pro version.
Why does my Cleaner One application have no Magic Vault feature?
- Magic Vault function has been removed since Cleaner One version 2.0.2. New users of version 2.0.2 won’t be able to access to Magic Vault.
- If you installed the Cleaner One app since version 2.0.0 and then updated it to 2.0.1 or 2.0.2, you can still use Magic Vault. However, once you deleted Cleaner One and installed it again, the Magic Vault function can no longer be used.
- If you updated Cleaner One app from version 1.9.X to 2.0.X, and have specifically upgraded to version 2.0.1, you will be able to use Magic Vault. However, if you upgraded the appdirectly to version 2.0.2, you will not have access to Magic Vault.
Magic Vault disappeared after upgrading the app to version 2.0.2, can I have my hidden photos back?
Magic Vault was removed on version 2.0.2. You can manually restore your hidden photos in Magic Vault.
To restore hidden photos:
- Open the Photos app.
- On the top right corner of the modified image, tap Edit.
If the image was masked by the Magic Vault feature, the Revert option should appear at the bottom, right corner of the picture. The hidden photo should then be reverted back to original.
Why can’t I restore my photos in/from Magic Vault?
Photos hidden through Magic Vault are supposed to be saved on your System Photo Library, and could only be restored if they were not modified, compressed, unloaded or covered by other applications.
In addition, you can choose to manage that using the Revert function in the Photos App. If you can’t find the Revert button in Photos, it’s very likely that the original information of your target photos has been modified and lost.
I changed my device to a new one and installed the new version of Cleaner One, then I found out that I lost the previous photos that I stored in Photo Vault.
The previous version of Dr. Cleaner before 1.9.13 did not allow the transfer of photos from Photo Vault, so transferring of photos to a different device might not be possible. We would suggest that users should manually export their photos which will serve as a backup before switching to a different device.
Nevertheless, the new Cleaner One version 2.0.0 has been able to support transferring of photos in Vault. We can backup data from old devices through iTunes or iCloud and recover them on new devices.

Transferring basically means to backup all data of source mobile devices through iTunes or iCloud, and then restore into target mobile devices.
Why do I have to log in iCloud to backup contacts?
In order to backup contacts, you have to copy all information of your contacts to the iCloud. We chose to backup the data in iCloud because it will be safer and secured since it will be for personal use.
There is always a notification reminding me to log in to iCloud even if I have already logged in.
To backup contacts, you should not only log in iCloud, but also enable iCloud Drive in iPhone Settings. Cleaner One still cannot identify the difference between logged in iCloud and enable iCloud Drive, so when you see a notification, verify if you have logged in and enable your iCloud Drive.
- Go to Settings, then tap on your Apple ID.
- Tap iCloud.
- Turn ON iCloud Drive.
Why is there a notice of insufficient iCloud storage during the backup process?
- You have to sign in to iCloud if you need to backup your contacts. When the storage of iCloud is not enough to save all the data of your contacts, there will be reminders of insufficient iCloud storage. You can check the remaining storage of iCloud on iPhone Settings:
- Go to Settings, then tap on your Apple ID.
- Tap iCloud. You’ll be able to see the storage usage of iCloud.
- You can upgrade the storage of iCloud to gain more space:
- Go to Settings, then tap on your Apple ID.
- Tap iCloud > Manage Storage
- Tap Change Storage Plan, then choose a plan.
The fee paid on upgrading your storage in iCloud is not relevant to Cleaner One.
