Sending passwords through email, text, or chat can put your accounts at risk. With Trend Micro ID Protection, you can share passwords with family, friends, or coworkers in a safe and encrypted way — so only the intended recipient can access your login details.

📱 Share a Password on Your Mobile Device

  1. Open the ID Protection app on your phone or tablet.
  2. Unlock the app with your Trend Micro Account password or biometrics (fingerprint/face).
  3. In your Password Vault, find the password you want to share and tap the list icon next to it.
  4. Tap Share Password.
  5. Set your sharing preferences:
    • Enter a title
    • Set an expiration date and limit the number of times the password can be viewed
    • Tap Generate Password Link
  6. Note the Access Code — you’ll give this separately to your recipient.
  7. Tap Share Password and choose how to send the link (email, message, etc.).
  8. Send the Access Code separately so they can unlock the password.
  9. The recipient opens the link, enters the code, and views the password securely.


⚠️ The password link expires based on the expiration date and view limit you set.

💻 Share a Password on Your Desktop or Laptop

  1. Go to the ID Protection Portal and sign in.
  2. Navigate to the Vault Tab and unlock it with your Trend Micro Account password.
  3. Select the password you want to share.
  4. Click Share Password, then set:
    • A descriptive title
    • An expiration date and view limit
    • Click Generate Password Link
  5. Note the Access Code — this must be sent separately to the recipient.
  6. Click Copy Password Link and paste it in an email or direct message.
  7. Send the recipient the Access Code separately.
  8. The recipient clicks the link, enters the code, and views the password securely.
