What is a Spam Text?

How to Block Spam Texts on iPhone or iPad

Using iMessage, you can sort out messages from people you don't know, and you won't receive alerts from them.

  1. Go to Settings, then tap Messages.
  2. Scroll down to Message Filtering.
  3. Turn ON Filter Unknown Senders. This will put messages from unknown numbers in a different list.

However, there might still be unfamiliar messages that could be spam. If you believe they are spam text messages, you can also manually block specific numbers.

  1. Tap the Messages app.
  2. Open the conversation, then tap the number at the top of the conversation.
  3. Tap the Profile icon, then tap Block this Caller.
