The Password Vault in ID Protection has an auto-lock (timeout) feature to keep your saved passwords secure if you’re idle or leave your device unattended.

You can set the vault to lock:

  • Immediately when you leave it
  • After 5 minutes of inactivity
  • After 10 minutes of inactivity
  • After 30 minutes of inactivity
  • Or Never — ⛔not recommended, especially on shared devices

👮 Security Tip: For maximum security, choose Immediately or a short timeout.

How to Set Auto-Lock Timeout

📱 Mobile (iOS / Android)

  1. Open the Trend Micro ID Protection app.
  2. Tap the ☰ Settings icon (upper left).
  3. Select Lock Vault Now to immediately lock your vault.
  4. To set auto-lock timing, select Auto Lock and choose your preferred timeout.

💻 Desktop (PC / Laptop)

  1. Open your browser with the ID Protection Extension installed.
  2. Go to the ID Protection Web Portal.
  3. Click your profile icon (top right), then Settings.
  4. From the left menu, choose Vault.
  5. In the right pane, click the Portal & Extension tab.
  6. Choose your Auto Lock preference.

🔐 Pro Tip: You can also adjust vault lock settings to your mobile device in the App tab using the same timing options.

By setting an appropriate lock time, you keep your sensitive data secure while ensuring quick access when needed. If you share your device with others, Immediate lock is the safest choice.
