Myavids.com is a malicious website that uses the browser’s built-in push notifications system to show spam pop-up ads on victims’ devices.
Why did this happen?
You are seeing the Myavids.com advertisements because your device is infected with a malicious program or a site that you have visited has redirected your browser to this page.
How to remove this?
1.Reset browsers back to default settings.
Google Chrome (Windows)
- Click the three dots in the top-right corner and then click on Settings.
- Click Reset settings.
- Click Reset settings to their original defaults.
- Click Reset to finish.
Optional:Reset Chrome Data Sync. In case a malicious extension reinstalls itself even after performing a browser reset, you have an additional option to reset the data sync for your browser. To do this, navigate to chrome.google.com/sync and click on the Clear Data button.
Google Chrome (Android Mobile)
- Open device Settings.
- Go to Apps or Application Manager(this may differe depending on your device version).
- Find and tap on the Google Chrome app.
- Click Storage or Storage Usage.
- Click Manage Space (If available, if not proceed on the next step).
- Click Clear Cache and Clear Data.
- Click OK to finish.
Microsoft Edge (Windows)
- Click the three dots in the top-right corner and then click on Settings.
- Click Reset settings.
- Click Restore settings to their default values.
- Click Reset to finish.
Microsoft Edge (Android Mobile)
- Open device Settings.
- Go to Apps or Application Manager(this may differe depending on your device version).
- Find and tap on the Microsoft Edge app.
- Click Storage or Storage Usage.
- Click Manage Space (If available, if not proceed on the next step).
- Click Clear Cache and Clear Data.
- Click OK to finish.
Firefox (Windows)
- Click the in the top-right corner and then click on Help.
- Click More troubleshooting information.
- Click Refresh Firefox
- Confirm that you want to reset your browser settings.
- Click Finish.
Safari (iOS Device)
- Open Settings app.
- Find and open Safari.
- Click Clear History and Website Data.
- Click Clear History and Data to finish.
2. Run a full scan using the Trend Micro software.
Run a full scan make sure that there is no other affected components or application on the device.
- Open the Trend Micro application on computer or mobile device.
- Click the Scan button (Full Scan for Computers).
- Click Finish once the scan is done.
