Follow these steps to fix 'Protection Disabled' status even with an activated license.

Make sure that there is no incompatible software installed on your device.

Clean Re-installation of Trend Micro Security

Uninstall Trend Micro Security

  1. Hold Windows Icon on your keyboard and press R key to open RUN box.
  2. Type SUPPORTTOOL.EXE then press OK to open Trend Micro Diagnostic Tool Kit.
  3. Tap C.Uninstall.
  4. Tap 5. Stop All Components.
  5. Tap 2. Delete Software Updates on this computer and 3. Delete Proxy Files on this Computer.
  6. Tap 1. Uninstall Software.
  7. Restart your computer.


Check for the Remnants of Trend Micro Security. If you found Trend Micro Folders on the following Folders, Delete it.

    Program Files
    Program Files (86)
    App Data (Check Local, LocalLow, Roaming)
    Programdata


Install Trend Micro Security

  1. Open your Browser.
  2. Go to Trend.com/quick.
  3. Download your preferred Trend Micro Security App (Maximum Security, Internet Security or Antivirus + Security).
  4. Open the Downloaded File.
  5. Let the Installation process proceed.
  6. Once the tab for Activation Code showed up, Please enter your Serial Number or Activation and it should be all upper case. Then click Apply or OK.
  7. Once installed, Open Trend Micro Security.
  8. If the status is Not Activated, Please click Activate Now below the status of Not Activated.
