The installer needs to remove a conflicting third-party security software.
Why You Need to Remove the Other Software
Having more than one antivirus or conflicting software installed at the same time can cause:
- Performance issues (programs may compete for system resources)
- Internet or application problems (security programs may block each other's connections)
- Reduced protection (antivirus programs can interfere with each other’s scans)
- Installation or update errors (each program may prevent the other from installing or updating properly)
How to Uninstall the Incompatible Software
- Click the Start ⊞, then go to Settings > Apps > Apps & Features. You can also access it via the shortcut button below:
- Click the program mentioned on the error message, then select Uninstall.
- Follow the instructions on the screen.
- Click the Trend Micro installer again to continue the installation.
Note: The uninstallation process of these conflicting programs and the time consumed will depend on how many files they contain.
