A newer version of Trend Micro Security is already installed and running on your Windows computer. You are already protected. ✅
This error commonly appears when you:
- Use an older installer from a retail box, disc, or previous download link
- Receive an older installer link via email after purchasing or renewing your subscription
- Try to install an older version after experiencing issues with the current one
What Should I Do?
Option 1: Keep your current installation (recommended)
You do not need to do anything — the newer version already installed on your computer includes the latest security updates and improvements.
- Click Close to exit the installer. You're all set! ✅
Option 2: Install the older version
If you specifically need to install the older version, follow these steps:
- Click Uninstall now in the error dialog.
- Wait for the uninstall to complete. Do not close the window or turn off your computer.
- Click Restart when prompted to restart your computer.
- Once your computer has restarted, run the older version's installer again to complete the installation.
