How to remove Joke Programs on Windows

Joke Programs, are considered relatively harmless and are often designed to annoy or make fun of users. They do not infect files, cause damage, nor spread to other systems.

How does it behave?

Some of these programs can...

• make your computer behave as if something is damaged.
• close and open your CD-ROM.
• display numerous pop ups.

How do I get rid of it?

Remove these programs manually:

1. Click the Start ⊞, then go to Settings > Apps > Apps & Features. You can also access it via the shortcut button below:

2. Select the program that matches the descriptions above, then click Uninstall.

How do I prevent this from happening?

Enable the Automatically delete joke programs feature on your Trend Micro program:

1. Open Trend Micro, then click Settings .

   

2. Click Security & Tuneup Controls, then click on Scan Preferences.

   

3. Put a check beside Automatically delete joke programs.

   

4. Click Apply, then click OK to save the changes.
