What Causes This?
The Smart Install Agent usually fails to finish the download for one of these reasons:
- You're signed in to Windows without Administrator privileges
- Your internet connection dropped or is unstable
- Your version of Windows isn't compatible with the Trend Micro program you're trying to install
Good news — installing manually fixes almost all of these.
How to Install Trend Micro Manually
- Sign in to your computer using an account with Administrator privileges.
- Confirm your computer meets the Trend Micro system requirements.
- Go to the Trend Micro Downloads Page and download the installer for your product.
- When the download is done, open your Downloads folder, right-click the installer file, and select Run as administrator.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to finish the installation.
- Restart your PC if the installer asks you to. You're all set! ✅
