You see this error message while using Password Manager in Mozilla Firefox:

"The service should start working again later"

Why is this happening?

  • Your computer is connected via proxy server.
  • Password Manager encountered an issue with the web browser.

What should I do next?

If you are using a proxy server, you need to disable the proxy settings so you can use Password Manager:

  1. On your keyboard, press the Windows + R keys to open the Run.
  2. In the Open field, type inetcpl.cpl, then click OK. This will open the Internet Options window .
  3. Click Connections, then click LAN settings.
  4. Uncheck Use a proxy server for your LAN.
  5. Click OK twice.


If you still see the error message or if you are not using a proxy server, you need to reinstall the Password Manager add on:

  1. Open Mozilla Firefox.
  2. Click the Menu button, then click Add-ons and Themes.
  3. Select Extensions, then look for Trend Micro Password Manager.
  4. Click the beside it, then select Remove.
  5. Go to this link: https://pwm.trendmicro.com/installExtension/firefox.
  6. Click Install Extension.
  7. Follow the prompts to complete the installation.
