Default Collection

ID Protection automatically collects and transmits the following data, some of which may be considered personal data in certain jurisdictions, after installing/enabling the product. It is necessary to collect this data to provide the security functions on this product. Therefore, you cannot disable these features. If you do not want ID Protection to access this data, you should uninstall/ stop using the product.

To see where this data is processed, below is the data centers and authorized data subprocessors and their locations.

Web Protection

(Browser Extension only)

DESCRIPTION

A user can query a URL to see if it is dangerous.

ID Protection Extension integrates with WRS to check if URL(s) is safe and records the encrypted inquiry message, metadata, and checks result in ID Protection database for statistics and research.

ID Protection Extension can’t directly get any user’s personal information from hashed/encryption user ID in Trend Micro side.

ID Protection includes the following features, which may collect and transmit the following data, some of which may be considered personal in certain jurisdictions to Trend Micro. You can disable any of these features at any time to prevent the corresponding data from being sent to Trend Micro.

Trend Micro Account

DESCRIPTION

If the user does not want ID Protection to collect this data, the user should NOT sign in and should NOT create a Trend Micro Account.

Data Leak Checker feature

DESCRIPTION

ID Protection uses hash value of personal information to determine whether that personal data appears in any data leak.

ID Protection stores email address/phone number to send mail/text message for authentication. We do not store your other personal information.

Identity

DESCRIPTION

ID Protection uses email address/ phone number to notify a user once the monitoring data have been leaked.

ID Protection uses hash value of personal information to constantly monitor whether that personal information has been leaked or stolen.

ID Protection stores masked value of personal information to protect customers privacy and provide essential information.

Block Page Elements

DESCRIPTION

Users can use ID Protection Extension to block specific website elements if they consider them unwanted ads. The backend database records the DOM elements that they have selected for their custom pattern.

ID Protection Extension can’t directly get any user’s personal information from hashed/encryption user ID in Trend Micro side.

Digital Footprint (Preview)

DESCRIPTION

When the user registers to ID Protection, we will ask you to provide us the "Connect with Google" permission to connect to your gmail. This method provides secure access to your email inbox.

ID Protection stores OAUTH2 for secured authorization. We don’t have any access to your password.
