Unwanted calls can be a nuisance and a potential threat. Learn how to regain control over your phone with Trend Micro ScamCheck.

Spam calls, scam calls and robo calls are all unwanted or unsolicited calls. Like spam texts, it can be annoying and even pose a threat as it could be the start of an intricate scam.

Turn ON Caller ID

Do you want to know who's calling before deciding to block them? Here's how:

  1. Open your Phone App Settings and enable Caller ID. Keep in mind that this will reveal your personal number to the caller.
  2. Set Trend Micro ScamCheck as your Caller App on your Android device. On iOS, set it as your Call Blocking & Identification App.


    Trend Micro ScamCheck may not show personal details about a caller, but it will indicate if the call is Safe, Dangerous, reported by other TM Check Users, or Unknown, helping you make informed decisions.

Turn ON Call Blocking

If spam calls are affecting your productivity and you do not have the time to look at who’s calling, enable Call Blocking:

  1. Access your Phone App Settings. Both Android and iOS provide options to block numbers; follow the steps on the links provided:
  2. In Trend Micro ScamCheck, go to the Call Block tab and activate Smart Block.

    Be cautious, as this can filter out important calls from businesses using personal numbers.

Use Lookup

It's not just calls; scam text messages or emails may also pose a threat. Here's how to check if it's safe to call a given number:

  1. Tap the number in the text message or dial it manually. Trend Micro ScamCheck will display a red or green icon in the dialer. This is available on iOS.

  2. Go to the Lookup tab and type in the phone number. You can also use Lookup to check URLs, email addresses, or the content of SMS or email.
