You encounter the following error message when signing in your Trend Micro Account so you can use Trend Micro Security for Microsoft Edge browser extension:

"Unable to Continue. Please Try Again. (Error 401)"

This issue happens when your computer’s clock is not set in the correct local time.

Set Date & Time to Local Time

  1. Go to Start > Settings > Time & language > Date & time.
  2. Set the time and date according to your local time.
  3. Open your Microsoft Edge Browser, and then click the Icon Trend Micro Security extension.
  4. Click the Icon icon, and then click the Sign in button.
  5. Enter your email address and password to log in.
