Follow these steps to configure your Huawei HG659 or HG659b router to enable DHCP mode, allowing Trend Micro Home Network Security to manage your device IP addresses.

Steps to Enable DHCP Mode

  1. Ensure your Home Network Security Station is powered on and connected to your home router.
  2. Open the Home Network Security app on your mobile device.
  3. Tap the Menu icon, then select Settings.
  4. Tap Station Configuration.
  5. Under STATION NETWORK SETTINGS, select DHCP Mode, then tap View steps.
  6. Tap Next, then follow the provided instructions.
  7. On your computer or mobile device, open a web browser (e.g., Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox).
  8. In the address bar, enter the Router IP address noted earlier and press ENTER.
  9. Log in to the Admin console with your router username and password:
    • Username: admin
    • Password: admin
  10. Navigate to the Home Network tab. In the left menu, select LAN Interface.
  11. Under DHCP Server, uncheck DHCP server, then click Save.
  12. Restart your router:
    1. Unplug the power cord from the router's back and ensure the front panel lights are off.
    2. Wait for 30 seconds, then reconnect the power cord to the router.
    3. Wait a minute or two for the router to power on completely.
  13. Open the Home Network Security app and check if you see the "Devices Protected" status.
