After installing Trend Micro Wi-Fi protection on your computer, you encountered this error message.

Error_Code_403_Trend_Micro_WiFi_Protection
"Unable to contact Trend Micro. Please try again. Error Code: #403"

You may encounter this issue due to the following conditions:

  • Time and Date is incorrect
  • Corrupted Installation

Enable Automatic Date and Time

  1. On the bottom-right corner of the screen, right-click on the time, then select Adjust date/time.
  2. From the settings window, click Date & time, then select the box for Set Time Automatically.

Perform a clean reinstallation of the program

  1. From the start menu, right-click on the Trend Micro WiFi Protection, then select Uninstall. Click Uninstall again on the confirmation window.

  2. Press the Windows + R keys to open the Run console, then enter %programdata%/Trend Micro/
  3. Delete the TMPWP folder.
  4. Delete Temp Files.
    1. Delete Windows Temp files:
      1. Open the Run window, then type "temp".
      2. Press ENTER. The Windows Temp folder should open.
      3. Delete all the files inside the Temp folder.
    2. Delete Local User temporary files:
      1. Open the Run window, then type "%temp%".
      2. Press ENTER. The Windows Temp folder should open.
      3. Delete all the files inside the Temp folder.
  5. Download and install the Trend Micro WiFi Protection app from the Microsoft Store.
