    Turn OFF Mute Mode

  4. Click OK to save the changes.

Why does my device still show Mute Mode is on after I turn it off?

Mute Mode will turn on in these situations:

  • Mute Mode will turn on automatically when in full screen mode (like when playing games or watching videos).
  • You have scheduled a time to start Manual Mute Mode.

If you just turned off Mute Mode but still get a notification that it's on, follow these steps:

Update Trend Micro to the latest version

To manually update Trend Micro, follow these steps:

  1. Right-click the Trend Micro icon in the taskbar's notification area, then select Check for Program Updates.
  2. If the icon is hidden, click the Show hidden icons (^) arrow next to the notification area.
  3. A window will appear checking for updates. Once it's done, click Close.

If Trend Micro is updated but you still see a Mute Mode notification, try this next step.

Restart Trend Micro program

Restart the Trend Micro program using the following steps:

  1. Press the Windows ⊞ and R keys on your keyboard simultaneously to open the "Run" window.
  2. Type supporttool.exe in the 'Open' field, then click OK.
  3. Click Yes when the "User Account Control" window appears.
  4. The "Trend Micro Diagnostic Toolkit" will open. Navigate to the (C) Uninstall tab.
  5. Click 5. Stop all components. Wait for the Trend Micro icon in the taskbar notification area to disappear (about 10-30 seconds).
  6. Then click 4. Start all components to restart them.
  7. Check if issue persists.
