Stop Mute Mode from running on your Windows computer temporarily without disabling your Trend Micro program.
Step-by-Step Guide
WARNING: Doing this, however, will affect your gaming experience.
- Open Trend Micro, then click the Device tab.
- Click Configure beside Mute Mode.
If you see an Introduction page, click OK.
- Click the switch to turn OFF Mute Mode.
- Click OK to save the changes.
Why does my device still show Mute Mode is on after I turn it off?
Mute Mode will turn on in these situations:
- Mute Mode will turn on automatically when in full screen mode (like when playing games or watching videos).
- You have scheduled a time to start Manual Mute Mode.
If you just turned off Mute Mode but still get a notification that it's on, follow these steps:
Update Trend Micro to the latest version
To manually update Trend Micro, follow these steps:
- Right-click the Trend Micro icon in the taskbar's notification area, then select Check for Program Updates.
- If the icon is hidden, click the Show hidden icons (^) arrow next to the notification area.
- A window will appear checking for updates. Once it's done, click Close.
If Trend Micro is updated but you still see a Mute Mode notification, try this next step.
Restart Trend Micro program
Restart the Trend Micro program using the following steps:
- Press the Windows β and R keys on your keyboard simultaneously to open the "Run" window.
- Type supporttool.exe in the 'Open' field, then click OK.
- Click Yes when the "User Account Control" window appears.
- The "Trend Micro Diagnostic Toolkit" will open. Navigate to the (C) Uninstall tab.
- Click 5. Stop all components. Wait for the Trend Micro icon in the taskbar notification area to disappear (about 10-30 seconds).
- Then click 4. Start all components to restart them.
- Check if issue persists.
