You might not receive an email when you click Retrieve your password by email in Trend Micro Security for Windows. While we are actively investigating the issue, you may consider reinstalling your Trend Micro Program so you can create a new password:

Reinstall Trend Micro Security

  1. Follow these steps to uninstall using the Diagnostic Toolkit:
    1. Press WINDOWS + R on your keyboard to open the 'Run' window.
    2. Type supporttool.exe and click OK.
    3. If prompted by User Account Control, click Yes to open the Trend Micro Diagnostic Toolkit.
    4. Select the (C) Uninstall tab, then click 1. Uninstall Software.
    5. Click Yes, and remember to copy your serial number/activation code for future reference.
    6. Check the box that says I copied my serial number, then click Uninstall.
    7. Click Yes to restart your computer and complete the uninstallation.
  2. To reinstall Trend Micro Security, download the installer through Download and Install page.

This will temporarily reset your Trend Micro program password. To set up a new password, follow these easy guide:

  1. Open Trend Micro.
  2. Click the Settings icon Settings icon.
  3. Click Other Settings.
  4. Select Password.
  5. Put a check beside Enable password protection to prevent unauthorized changes.
  6. Type your preferred password, then retype it in the Confirm password field.
    • It must contain 8 to 50 characters composed of numbers (0 to 9), uppercase (A to Z) and lowercase (a to z) letters.
    • It must NOT include any special characters (!, @, $, etc.) or any non-english alphabet characters.
  7. Provide a hint to remember your password and your email address in case you forget it.
  8. Click Apply, then OK to save the changes.
