Why did this happen?
This error usually appears when special characters (such as @, ', $, or %) or invalid characters (such as letters instead of numbers) are entered in the form fields required to activate your subscription.
What should I do next?
To resolve this, follow the steps below to complete your activation:
- Open an Incognito or Private Browsing window in your browser.
- Go to the Trend Micro Activation Portal.
- Click the Get Started button.
- Click Sign In below the Next button.
- Sign in using the email address or phone number associated with your Trend Micro account, then click Next.
- Enter your account password, then click Next.
- Type your activation code in the field provided.
- Check the box that says I have read and agree to the Trend Micro License Agreement, then click Next.
- You will be asked to set up auto-renewal. Don’t worry — you won’t be charged immediately. This step helps keep your protection running without gaps. You’ll receive reminders before any renewal, and you can cancel anytime.
Fill out the required billing information carefully. Make sure each field contains only valid and necessary details—avoid using special characters, unnecessary symbols, or invalid numbers, especially in your name, address, and card information. When you're done, click Next to continue.

- If you already have the program installed, there’s no need to download it again. Simply open the existing program on your device and update it by entering the new activation code.
