If you find that you cannot open the Trend Micro Security such as Maximum Security, Internet Security, or Antivirus+ Security on your Windows computer, follow these steps to resolve the issue.

👨🔧 How to Fix
Restart the Trend Micro program using the following steps:
- Hold down the Windows ⊞ (looks like a square flag) and press R to open the "Run" window.
- In the box, type supporttool.exe, then click OK.
- If asked “Do you want to allow this app to make changes?" - click Yes.
- The Trend Micro Diagnostic Tool will open. Navigate to the (C) Uninstall tab.
- Click 5. Stop all components. (wait until the Trend Micro icon disappears from the tray near the clock).
- Click 4. Start all components to restart the program.
- Try opening the Trend Micro program again.
If you get a message saying “Windows cannot find supporttool.exe”
- Type %programdata% instead, then click OK.
- In the folder that opens, look for Trend Micro Installer folder.
- Open the latest folder (the one with the most recent date).
- Open the SupportTool folder.
- Double‑click supporttool.exe.
- The Trend Micro Diagnostic Tool will open. Navigate to the (C) Uninstall tab.
- Click 5. Stop all components. (wait until the Trend Micro icon disappears from the tray near the clock).
- Click 4. Start all components to restart the program.
- Try opening the Trend Micro program again.
