Activating Trend Micro ID Protection ensures your subscription is fully enabled so you can enjoy complete features. The process depends on how you obtained your subscription — follow the instructions for your specific case below.

Purchased Subscription via Trend Micro Online Store or Retail Store

If you purchased your plan online or at a retail store, you need to activate it through the Activation Portal first.

  1. Find your Activation Code in your Activate Your Subscription email (online purchase) or on the receipt/inside the packaging (retail purchase).
    Example format: XXXX-0000-0000-0000-0000
  2. Go to the Trend Micro Product Activation Portal:
    https://account.trendmicro.com/setup/landing
  3. Click Get Started.
  4. Sign in to your existing Trend Micro Account or create a new one.
  5. Enter your activation code.
  6. Accept the Trend Micro License Agreement and click Next.
    • Activate Subscription in Web Browser
      1. Open the Trend Micro ID Protection browser extension.
      2. Sign in using the same Trend Micro Account you used in the Activation portal.
    • Activate Subscription in Mobile App
      1. Open the Trend Micro ID Protection App.
      2. Sign in using the same Trend Micro Account you used in the Activation portal.

🤓☝️Tip: Once your activation code is connected to a Trend Micro Account, you don’t need to remember the code.
Always remember the Trend Micro Account you used — this is how your subscription is recognized across all devices.

Free Trial Users Who Upgraded via ID Protection Portal

  1. Complete your payment.
  2. Your subscription will activate automatically.
