Listed are Home Network Security known issues and product limitations. This article will be updated as new information becomes available.
- Some Android devices cannoyt connect properly to networks using Trend Micro Home Network Security due to changes in Android's Operating System since September 2023.
- Not fully compatible with Android 13.
- The notification setting displays incorrectly. You need to turn it on from the systems settings page.
- Pairing with the Station may fail. You need to retry a few times or use cloud pairing.
- Some issues due to Windows 10 randomized MAC address feature:
- Windows 10 devices which connect to the network for the first time, may incorrectly be recognized by Home Network Security.
- Windows 10 devices might not be able to connect to the network.
- Home Network Security Parental Controls feature for Windows 10 devices might not work when this feature is enabled.
- The Guardian Code can be used to pair with another device other than the intended child’s device.
- Website Filtering continuously shows pop-up notifications in iOS devices.
- DHCP mode has a known issue in mesh networks. The main mesh router may work, but the sub-mesh router may not get DHCP information correctly.
- Home Network Security app crashes on some Android devices. Contact Technical Support for assistance.
- Some issues due to Android 10 randomized MAC address feature:
- Some Android 10 devices which connect to the network for the first time, may incorrectly be recognized by Home Network Security. Wait for some time for the device recognition result to be corrected in further scanning.
- Home Network Security app may display duplicate devices due to Android 10 Randomized MAC feature. If you are using Parental Controls feature, you need to assign the duplicate devices into the same Family profile.
- No blocking page when Home Network Security blocked a secured (https) website.
- Internal Attack Blocking feature does not support IPv6.
- Router Access Protection feature does not support IPv6.
- DHCP mode does not support IPv6.
- Internal Attack Blocking feature will be disabled in DHCP mode.
- Devices connected to the router's guest SSID are not protected by Home Network Security.
- One device may appear as two or more devices in the Device List of the app, when the device has multiple NICs.
- Port forwarding does not work with some router model when Mode 2 or Mode 3 is on.
- Home Network Security does not support devices which are connected to some Wi-Fi extenders.
- Devices with apps using VPN (Virtual Private Network) technology may block communications or pairing with the Home Network Security Station.
- Home Network Security is not compatible with “Circle with Disney”. Remove or disconnect the Circle device on your network to avoid any issues with Home Network Security.
- Port forwarding will work on DHCP mode but the mapped devices will not be protected by Home Network Security.
- NEC router management console is locked when it is scanned for weak password during daily scan.
