You are experiencing any of the following scenarios:
- The Wi-Fi connection on your Google Pixel, Samsung, and other Android devices connected to Home Network Security is unstable every few seconds.
- The Wi-Fi connection becomes disconnected after the Android device connects to Wi-Fi for a few seconds.
Note: Android 11 or later versions may have encountered this issue.
What Happened?
Trend Micro found that some Android devices can't connect properly to networks using Trend Micro Home Network Security due to changes in Android's Operating System since September 2023.
A dedicated team is currently working on fixing the issue.
What To Do Next
We highly recommend following the steps below:
1. Enable DHCP Mode
Switch your current Home Network Security mode to DHCP mode.
Note: If you are using a Samsung mobile device, please proceed on disabling Detect Suspicious Networks setting before proceeding on enabling DHCP Mode. To do this, follow the steps below:
- On your Samsung device, open Device Settings.
- Tap on Connections > tap Wi-Fi.
- Tap the 3 dots on the upper right corner, then select Intelligent Wi-Fi.
- Toggle off the switch for Detect Suspicious Networks.
- After disabling the Detect Suspicious Networks setting, turn off Wi-Fi connection and wait for 5 minutes or more before turning on the Wi-Fi again.
If issue persists, proceed in enabling DHCP mode.
2. Add the Device to Unmanaged Devices List
To temporarily fix the issue, add your device to the Unmanaged Device List. Follow these steps:
- On your mobile device, open the Home Network Security app.
- Tap the Menu icon on the upper left, then tap Settings.
- Under STATION, tap Unmanaged Devices.
- Tap Add Devices, then select your Android device.
