You see this notification on the Trend Micro Home Network Security app:
"Brute Force Login (Open Port Scan)"
Why did this happen?
A brute force login attack was detected in your home network. It can be in the form of RDP via port 3389, FTP via port 21 or SSH via port 22. These services are used by attackers to compromise accounts and passwords. An automated program is used to repeatedly attempt to log into target hosts using a dictionary of common usernames and passwords.
What are its risks?
- Attackers could use your default or weak password to compromise your server, router, or IoT equipment.
What should I do next?
- Change the default password of the devices and create a much stronger password. Show me how.
