Folder Shield protects and limits access to your important files and folders on your Mac from Ransomware.

Add your cloud storage to the Folder Shield list now.

Enable Folder Shield on Mac

  1. Open Trend Micro Antivirus.
  2. Click Folder Shield.

  3. Click the lock icon to make changes.

  4. Type in your password, then click OK.

  5. Switch ON Folder Shield to start protecting folders.

  6. When a window appears, click OK.

  7. Click + to add a folder.

  8. Select a folder, then click Add.

    Protect your Data in the Cloud

    You can also protect Cloud Storage folders and files synced on your Mac:

    • iCloud Drive
    • Google Drive
    • Dropbox
  9. Click to add more.
  10. Click the lock icon to prevent further changes.

Add a program to the Trusted Program List

To allow programs to access protected files, add it to the Trusted Programs List:

  1. On Trend Micro Antivirus main console, click Logs.

  2. From the Log type dropdown list, select Folder Shield. Programs that Folder Shield blocks is displayed on this list.

  3. Select a program, then click Unblock to add it on the Trusted Program List.
