If you’ve already renewed but your subscription still shows as expired, don’t worry — your payment likely went through, and your protection just needs a quick refresh or reactivation.

1️⃣ Your Renewal May Still Be Updating

After you renew, your subscription may take 24–48 hours to update on all your devices. This is normal.

Here’s what you may notice during this time:

  • Your Trend Micro Account will show the correct renewal first
  • Your devices may still show Expired, Not Activated, or Needs Attention
  • The app will update automatically once it syncs again

If your Trend Micro Account already shows your renewal as Active, your protection is safe — your device just needs a quick refresh.

🔄 Quick Refresh Steps

Try these simple steps to update your subscription on your device:

  • Close and reopen the Trend Micro app.
  • Click the expiry date and confirm that the information matches your subscription.
  • If nothing changes, restart your device.

These steps help your device sync with your updated subscription.

2️⃣ You May Have Received a New Activation Code

In some cases — especially if you renewed manually or through Auto-Renewal — you’ll get a new activation code for your latest plan.

Check your inbox (and your Spam or Junk folders) for an email with the subject 📩: Activate Your Subscription

Once found, activate your new code. Visit below for instructions:

👉 See how to activate your new code on your devices

If you can’t find the email, contact our Support Team — we can resend your activation code instantly.

3️⃣ You Renewed Through Best Buy

If you purchased or renewed via Best Buy, your activation may be managed separately.

Contact Geek Squad Support for activation or billing assistance.

4️⃣ Your Payment Went Through but Activation Didn’t

If you’ve been charged twice, or your renewal shows $0 amount or still says expired, it’s possible the renewal was duplicated or not linked properly.

Don’t worry — your payment is safe.

Our Support Team can:

  • Verify your latest renewal
  • Fix mismatched license links
  • Issue a refund if you were charged twice

💬 Contact Trend Micro Support and provide your order number or email used for purchase.

5️⃣ You Might Not Have Renewed Yet

If your subscription still appears expired after checking the above:

  1. Sign in to your Trend Micro Account.
  2. Look under Licenses to confirm your current plan.
  3. If it’s marked Expired, click Renew Now to reactivate your protection.

6️⃣ Why One Device Updates and Another Doesn’t

Each device checks for subscription updates at different times. For example:

  • Your Windows PC may update right away
  • Your Mac or mobile device may take longer
  • VPN, ID Protection, and other Trend Micro apps update separately

If one device already shows Active, the others will follow shortly.

7️⃣ Still Not Working or Can’t Find Your Email?

  • Confirm your payment and renewal status
  • Fix any linking or expired license issues
