After installing Trend Micro Security, you see this error message when you open the program:

"Load Failed"

What Happened?

The Trend Micro program triggered itself to update its latest components before opening the program.

What To Do Next?

To resolve the issue, reinstall a new one:

  1. Get a copy of your activation code.
  2. Check if your computer meets the minimum system requirements.
  3. Uninstall your current Trend Micro program.
  4. Go to
  5. Enter your email address and password to sign in.
    You will see the Downloads section of your Trend Micro Account page.
  6. Click the Download button under your Trend Micro Security subscription.
  7. Click the Download button under Download to This Device. A new tab will open to download the installer.
  8. Double-click the downloaded file to run the installer.

    If the User Account Control window appears, click Yes.

  9. Follow the instructions to complete the installation.
  10. Fill out the account information to activate your protection.
