App Freeze in Trend Micro Mobile Security helps extend your battery life, reduces application notifications, and optimizes your device's performance. It allows you to select which apps to stop and prevent from running in the background, as well as from displaying notifications.
Enable App Freeze
App Freeze will be the primary feature for optimizing your device's performance. However, please note that App Stop in Trend Micro Mobile Security will not be available on Android 14 OS and above due to Google Play's policy limitations and restrictions on killing background applications.
For Android 14 and above
- Open the Mobile Security app.
- Tap App Freeze.
- Tap the Mobile Security needs permissions before you can use all of the App Stop features message you see at the top.
- Tap the Allow Now.
- Turn on all permissions for Trend Micro Mobile Security. You will see a "Permissions Allowed" message after enabling all permissions.
- Choose the apps that you want to freeze from running, then tap Freeze.
- Wait for the App Freeze process to finish.
For Android 13 and below
- Open the Mobile Security app.
- Tap App Stop.
- Tap the Mobile Security needs permissions before you can use all of the App Stop features message you see at the top.
- Tap the Allow Now.
- Turn on all permissions for Trend Micro Mobile Security. You will see a "Permissions Allowed" message after enabling all permissions.
- Tap Stop Apps.
- Wait for the scan to finish, then tap App Freeze.
- Choose the applications you want to prevent from running in the background and displaying in-app notifications.
