Your Trend Micro Security program scan hangs or stops at a certain percentage.

Nothing happens when you click Stop and sometimes, you cannot close the scan window.

Why did this happen?

  • The component handling the scanning process failed or has stopped working.
  • Stored files of the program became corrupted.

How do I fix this?

Restart Trend Micro Components

  1. Temporarily disable the Trend Micro program, then turn it back ON.
  2. Run a scan again.

Delete Temporary Files

  1. Click here to follow the guide to delete temporary files in your computer.
  2. Once done, open Trend Micro and try to run a scan< again.
