A Golden Key is a registration implementation where a single license is only needed to activate all Trend Micro product bundles.
How does it work?
Trend Micro Security for Windows, Mac, Android and iOS will share the allowable seats on your license. The seat count is no longer associated with the users of the device but covers the registered devices itself.
You can register one license/serial number to a number of devices depending on the number of seats your license allows and the Trend Micro Security product that you have.

How can I get a Golden Key?
After purchasing Trend Micro Security, your serial/license number will also be your Golden Key.
How will it affect my current license/subscription?
After activating your Trend Micro program, your license will automatically convert to a Golden Key. If you purchased 3 seat license, you can register three Trend Micro products or three devices. Also, there are no changes on the subscription’s expiration date. It will remain as it is.
Will I be able to go back to my previous Trend Micro product, after my license has converted to a Golden key?
Yes, you can downgrade to a lower version of the Trend Micro program. However, once your license was converted to a Golden Key, it will remain as it is.
What will happen if my license is already registered to 3 computers and I also activated my Trend Micro for Mac/Trend Micro Mobile Security?
You will receive an overseat message, "Too Many Installations". This means you will have to choose which devices to protect. Otherwise, you will have to purchase another license to cover your other computers.
