Want safer browsing on Microsoft Edge? The Trend Micro Security extension blocks dangerous websites and warns you about scams as you browse. Here's how to add it in just a few minutes.
What You Need
- A Windows PC or Mac with Microsoft Edge installed
- A stable internet connection
- An active Trend Micro Security subscription (for full protection features)
Install from the Microsoft Edge Add-ons Store
- Open the Microsoft Edge Add-ons page: Get Trend Micro Security for Edge.
- Bought through Best Buy? Use this link instead: Trend Micro Security (Best Buy) for Edge.
- Click Get, then Add Extension when Edge asks for confirmation. Wait for the download to finish.
- Pin the extension so it's easy to find:
- Click the Extensions (puzzle-piece) icon at the top right of Edge.
- Find Trend Micro Security in the list, then click the pin icon next to it.
- Click the Trend Micro Security icon on the toolbar.
- Read the Privacy & Personal Data Collection Disclosure, then click Continue.
- Read the Trend Micro License Agreement, then click Accept and Start.
You should now see the Trend Micro Security icon on your toolbar. You're all set! ✅
🔔 Using Windows 10 S? Click Activate, then sign in with your Trend Micro Account to finish setup.
Already Have Trend Micro Security Installed?
If you already use Trend Micro Maximum Security, Premium Security, Internet Security, or Antivirus+ Security, you can add the Edge extension straight from the app:
- Open your Trend Micro Security app.
- Go to the Privacy tab and click Configure under Social Networking Protection.
- Click Install under the Microsoft Edge option.
Accidentally Removed the Extension?
No worries — you can reinstall it through your TrendLife Account:
- Go to the TrendLife Account Portal and sign in.
- Select the Download tab and click Download to this Device under Trend Micro Security.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to finish the installation.
Troubleshooting
The extension doesn't appear after install.
Click the Extensions (puzzle-piece) icon at the top right of Edge to make sure Trend Micro Security is enabled, then pin it to the toolbar.
"Accept and Start" is greyed out.
Scroll to the bottom of the License Agreement first — the button only becomes active once you've reached the end.
The icon shows but features aren't working.
Make sure you're signed in with your TrendLife Account, and that your subscription is active. See How to Activate Trend Micro Security on Microsoft Edge.
