As part of the upgrade process, the older version is automatically removed, and the latest one is installed. It's a seamless operation, but you might be left wondering what to do next. Here's a simple step to finish the installation:

  1. Click Restart Now after the upgrade.
  2. Once you restart, the upgrade will continue in the background, and you'll see this message when you hover the upgrade icon on the taskbar:
    "Upgrading to the newest version"
  3. After it finishes, you a confirmation pop-up will appear saying:
    "You Now Have the Latest Trend Micro Security Protection"

Pop-up Keeps Showing After Restart

But what if the pop-up keeps showing even after you restart? This could be a sign that the software upgrade is corrupted. In that case, you should consider a clean reinstall of the program. Follow these steps:

  1. Get a copy of your activation code.
  2. Log onto your computer using an account with administrator privileges.
  3. Download and install the Trend Micro Remnant File Remover Tool to completely remove the corrupted files. Click the download link below to start:

  4. After restarting, download your corresponding installer based on your activation code. If it starts with:
