Learn how to allow permissions and configure the device settings to fix the concerns found on your mobile device after running a scan on your Mobile Security application to better protect your device.
Things to Fix
Steer clear of security threats on the Web and unsafe Wi-Fi networks.
- Under Security Scan, tap View Details.
- Tap the app recommended for removal.
- Tap Remove to uninstall the app or tap Trust to add it on the Trusted List.
- Under Web Guard, tap Set Up.
- To modify the settings, tap on the notification.
- Tap Allow Now.
- Choose Mobile Security to enable Draw over other apps.
- Tap Installed Services or Downloaded apps, then enable permission for Trend Micro Mobile Security.
- Under Fraud Buster, tap Set Up.
- To modify the settings, tap on the notification.
- Tap Allow Now.
- Under SMS/MMS messages notification, tap Accept..
- Tap app notifications.
- Toggle the switch beside app notification scan.
- Under Wi-Fi Checker, tap Set Up.
- To modify the settings, tap on the notification.
- Tap Allow Now to turn on permission, then tap Allow all the time.
- Under Pay Guard, tap Set Up.
- To modify the settings, tap on the Notification.
- Tap allow now. Toggle the switch beside Mobile Security
- Under Screen Unlock, tap Set Up.
- Select how you want to lock your device: Pattern, PIN, or Password.
You will only see this feature under Things to Fix if you haven't set up a password on your device.
- Under Parental Controls, tap Set Up.
- Provide your Trend Micro account password.
- To modify the settings, tap on the notification.
- Tap Allow Now.
- From the list of applications, tap Mobile Security to allow permissions.
- Tap App Lock, then drag the slider to the right to turn it ON.
- Tap Website Filter, then drag the slider to the right to turn it ON.
- To keep the Parental Controls disabled, tap Ignore.

- Under Stop USB Debugging, tap Open Settings.
- From the list, look for USB Debugging, then turn it OFF.
- To keep the USB Debugging enabled, tap Ignore.
- USB Debugging feature will be available only if Developer Mode is enabled.
- Under Unknown sources, tap Open Settings.
- Under Device administration, drag the slider to the left to turn off installation of apps from unknown sources.
- This concern found is only available for Android version 7.0 and below.
- To keep the installation from unknown sources enabled, tap Ignore.
Share only what you intend to share on Facebook and Twitter and protect your data if strangers get access to your device.
- Under Lost Device Protection, tap Set Up.
- Provide your Trend Micro account password.
- To modify the settings, tap on the notification.
- A pop-up message will appear asking you to activate the device administrator.
- Tap Activate.
- Tap App Lock, then drag the slider to the right to turn it ON.
- On the bottom part of the screen, allow all additional permissions needed.
- Tap Find my Android, then drag the slider to the right to turn it ON.
- To keep the Lost Device Protection disabled, tap Ignore.

Stay informed about the behavior of your device.
- Tap Set Up under Notification Permission.
- Slide the switch to the right to turn on Notifications.
Notification Permission is only available on certain versions of mobile operating systems.
- Under Security Scan Notifications, tap Set Up.
- From the list, look for Mobile Security.
- Drag the slider to the right to turn ON Security Scan notifications.
- Under Display Over Other Apps, tap Set Up.
- Drag the slider to the right to turn it ON.
Display Over Other Apps will not be visible under Insights if you already allowed the permissions in the Web Guard page.
- Under Run in the background, tap Set Up.
- Tap Allow. This setting will allow the Mobile Security to protect you even when the app is closed. .
After following the steps above, run another scan to check if the recommended items have been fixed.
