The Smart Alert feature of Trend Micro Home Network Security will no longer be available starting June 8, 2023.
What is Smart Alert?
Trend Micro Home Network Security's Smart Alert analyzes your network and identifies unusual behavior on connected devices. It sends notifications when it detects unusual network behavior, such as a spike in network traffic.
What happens after the End of Support date?
The Early Access Program page will no longer include the Smart Alert report. You can still access the Smart Alert Report history but will no longer receive new event notifications and alerts.
How do I keep my connected devices protected?
Even without the Smart Alert feature, you can enhance the security of your connected devices with these best practices:
- Make sure your device always receives the latest firmware or operating system updates.
- Update your default WiFi name.
- Use a strong WiFi password:
- Use a password with at least eight characters.
- Use a combination of uppercase and lowercase letters.
- Use a combination of letters, numbers, and symbols.
- Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) on online accounts.
- Use WPA2 (WiFi Protected Access 2) WiFi encryption, which is currently the best encryption for home wireless networks.
