Your Trend Micro Security on computer has been stuck at "Update is in Progress" for more than an hour now.

Why did this happen?

Possible that the Trend Micro update components are corrupted or a Service of Trend Micro is disabled.

How do I fix this?

Delete Update Components

  1. On your keyboard, press the Windows ⊞ and the R key, then type in "supporttool.exe" and hit OK.
  2. Click Yes when the User Account Control window appears.This will open the Trend Micro Diagnostic Toolkit.
  3. In the upper part of the window, click on (C) Uninstall and then click on 5. Stop all components.
  4. In the same window, delete the last update installed by clicking on 2. Delete Now and then 3. Delete Now.

  5. Close the Diagnostic Toolkit and restart the computer. Trend Micro should automatically check for the latest update when it starts.

Enable Trend Micro Solution Platform Service

  1. On keyboard, press the Windows and the R key simultaneously, then type "services.msc" and hit OK. This will open the Windows Services Manager.
  2. Scrolldown to the Trend Micro Solution Platform services.
  3. Check if the status of Trend Micro Solution Platform is "running". If not, click Start to enable and run the services.
  4. Trend Micro should now start and initiate an update and check for the latest version of the program.
