Data Usage in Trend Micro Mobile Security helps you manage how much Internet data you use from your cellular, roaming, or Wi-Fi services on your iPhone and iPad. It lets you know if you have exceeded or will soon exceed your data plan limits to avoid paying extra charges.
DISCLAIMER: The amount of data shown in Mobile Security may still differ from your actual usage, even if you always keep the app running in the background. If this happens, Trend Micro cannot take responsibility for any data fees your cellular network provider charges for your data plan. Contact your mobile network provider if you have questions or concerns about your cellular or roaming data usage.

Check data usage
See how much Data you already used
- Tap the Mobile Security app.
- Scroll down, then tap Data Usage.
- Select what type of Internet connection you use:
It will show the following information:
- Used Data
- Data Plan
- Period (Date Range)
Set up a limit
Set Up Data Usage Limit
- Tap the Mobile Security app.
- Scroll down, then tap Data Usage.
- Tap the Cellular tab, then tap the Settings icon.
- Tap Data Plan.
- Switch OFF Unlimited Plan.
- Enter how much your data plan is under DATA LIMITATION, then select if it is in GB or MB under UNIT.
Set a billing cycle
Specify Billing Date
- Tap the Mobile Security app.
- Scroll down, then tap Data Usage.
- Tap the Cellular tab, then tap the Settings icon.
- Tap Billing Cycle.
- Tap Billing Cycle, then choose if:
- Tap Start On, then choose when the billing starts.
Notify when data exceeds limit
Alert when Data exceeds Usage Limit
- Tap the Mobile Security app.
- Scroll down, then tap Data Usage.
- Tap the Cellular tab, then tap the Settings icon.
- Switch ON Alert under ALERT SETTINGS.
- Tap First Alert, then enter what percentage of data used you want Mobile Security to alert you.
- Tap Second Alert, then enter the threshold percentage of data used you want Mobile Security to inform you to stop using Internet data.
Match cellular data settings
Use Same Settings with Cellular Data
- Tap the Mobile Security app.
- Scroll down, then tap Data Usage.
- Tap the Roaming or the Wi-Fi tab, then tap the Settings icon.
- Switch ON Match Cellular Data Settings.
- If you have a separate plan for Roaming Data, you can switch it OFF and set up its own Data Plan, Billing Cycle, and Alert settings.
- If you have a separate plan for Wi-Fi Data, you can switch it OFF and set up a its own Billing Cycle settings.
Adjust current data usage
Manually Set Data Used
- Tap the Mobile Security app.
- Scroll down, then tap Data Usage.
- Select what type of Internet connection you use:
- Tap the Settings icon.
- Tap Adjust Current Usage under OPTIONAL SETTINGS.
- Enter how much your data you already used, then select if it is in GB or MB under UNIT.
