WARNING: Before deleting protection, check the computer (Windows, Mac) or mobile device (Android, iPhone or iPad) name to prevent accidental removal on existing devices.

Step-by-Step Guide

If you're unsure which device to remove, follow these steps to identify which device is inactive and no longer being protected by Trend Micro:

  1. Open Trend Micro to check if the device is still protected.
    Expand All
    Windows
    Mac
    iPhone (iOS)
    Android
  2. Identify the device name where Trend Micro is still installed.
    Expand All
    Windows
    Mac
    iPhone/iPad
    Android

NOTE: Take note of the device name that is still protected by Trend Micro.

  3. Go to the Trend Micro Account portal via https://account.trendmicro.com/.
  4. Type your email address and password, then click Sign In.

If you set up Two-Factor Authentication, you will need to type in the verification code sent to your preferred method (Authenticator App, Email or Text).

  5. Click the Licenses tab, then look for your ongoing subscription.
  6. Click Manage Device +, then hover to the inactive device you want to remove protection.

NOTE: You can compare the device name to see which one is still protected by Trend Micro.

  7. Click the X icon on the upper right corner of the inactive device.
  8. Click Yes to confirm.

I can't remove a device from my account

The X button to remove a device may not be visible or clickable in certain situations. Here are some examples:

  • Your license covers only one device.
  • Your subscription covers multiple devices, but only one device is currently using it.

To transfer the protection to a new device, install Trend Micro on it. You might see a "Sign In to Transfer Protection" or "Too Many Installations" error message when you try to install. Follow these steps to transfer protection to another device:

  1. Click on the Sign In button.
  2. Log in to your Trend Micro Account by providing your password on the browser that will open.
  3. Select the name of the computer or device where the program was previously activated or the device you want to replace with your new one.
  4. Provide a new computer name, such as "Personal Laptop" or "Home Computer," and click Next.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions and click Transfer Now.
