Step-by-Step Guide to Identify Inactive Devices

If you are unsure which device to remove, follow these steps to check which one is no longer protected by Trend Micro:

On a Windows Computer

  • Check the System Tray:
    1. Look at the bottom-right corner of your screen.
    2. Click on the hidden icons.
    3. Find the Trend Micro icon and hover over it for more information.
  • Check Windows Search:
    1. Press the Windows key on your keyboard.
    2. Type Trend Micro Maximum Security and check the results.
  • Check Installed Programs:
    1. Press the Windows key and the R key at the same time.
    2. Type appwiz.cpl and press Enter.
    3. Look for Trend Micro in the list of installed apps.

  3. If you have Two-Factor Authentication, enter the verification code sent to you.
  4. Click on the Licenses tab and find your active subscription.
  5. Click Manage Device + and hover over the inactive device you want to remove.
  6. Click the X icon on the upper right corner of the inactive device.
  7. Click Yes to confirm the removal.

Can't Remove a Device?

If you cannot see or click the X button to remove a device, it may be due to:

  • Your license covers only one device.
  • Your subscription allows multiple devices, but only one is currently using it.

To transfer protection to a new device, follow these steps:

  1. Click on the Sign In button.
  2. Log in to your Trend Micro account using your password.
  3. Select the name of the device you want to replace.
  4. Enter a new device name (e.g., "Personal Laptop") and click Next.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions and click Transfer Now.
