The Fraud Buster feature on your iOS device lets you scan your iMessage, saved images, and screenshots for malicious URLs.


Scan saved images

Camera Roll Scan allows you to scan up to three images on your Camera Roll folder for malicious URLs.

Camera Roll Scan
  1. Open the Mobile Security app.
  2. Tap Fraud Buster , then tap Camera Roll Scan.

    If it’s your first time to use Camera Roll Scan:

    1. Read the Data Collection Notice, then tap Agree.
    2. Tap OK to allow access to your photos.
  3. Select the photos you want to scan, then tap Done.
  4. Wait for the scan to finish.
  5. It will show if the URL is safe or risky or if it does not have a URL embedded on it.

If the URL on the results page is different from the URL on the scanned image, you can edit the URL and rescan it:

  1. On the results page, tap the Edit button beside the URL.
  2. Edit the URL, then tap Rescan.
  3. Wait for the scan to finish.

Scan latest screenshots

Screenshot Scan allows you to scan the latest screenshot taken on your iOS device.

  1. On your device, open Mobile Security app.
  2. Tap Fraud Buster, then tap Screenshot scan settings.
  3. Toggle the switch to ON to enable Screenshot Scan.

    A pop-up message will appear if Web Guard is turned off. Tap OK to enable.

To scan new screenshots:

  1. Take a screenshot using your iOS device.
  2. Tap the Screenshot scan notification.
  3. Wait for the scan to finish.

Scan iMessages

iMessage Scan filters messages (SMS and MMS) from iMessage for URL spam. Once it detects a spam URL, it will place the iMessage to the iMessage Spam Folder.

  1. On your device, open Mobile Security app.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Messages.
  4. Scroll down, then tap Unknown & Spam.
  5. Switch on Mobile Security to enable Fraud Buster.

This feature is availble for devices running iOS 11 and above.


Scan URLs

Link Scanner scans URLs to verify if it is safe or malicious.

Link Scanner
  1. On your device, open Mobile Security app.
  2. Tap Fraud Buster.
  3. Under the Camera Roll Scan tab, tap the Link Scanner icon Link Scanner Logo .
  4. Provide the URL you want to scan, then tap Scan.
  5. Wait for the scan to finish.
  6. Scan will show any of the following results:
    • Safe – the URL is verified as safe.

      Link Scanner Safe
    • Not Safe – the URL has security risks.

      Link Scanner Not Safe
    • No Address Found – incorrect URL format provided.

How to use Fraud Buster (Mobile Security for iOS)

The Fraud Buster feature on your iOS device lets you scan your iMessage, saved images, and screenshots for malicious URLs.


Scan saved images

  6. Scan will show any of the following results:
    • Safe – the URL is verified as safe.

    • No Address Found – incorrect URL format provided.
