Parental Controls help keep your kids safe from online dangers on their iPhone or iPad.
How Does It Work?
It uses a feature called Web Guard to block bad websites based on your child's age. You can also change settings for older family members to help them stay safe online.
Turn ON Web Guard
If this is your first time using this feature, you need to turn on Web Guard first to use Parental Controls. Follow these steps:
- Open the Mobile Security app.
- Tap on Web Guard, then tap the Turn On Web Guard button.
- The app will ask to add VPN settings; choose Allow to continue.
- Enter your passcode to turn on the feature.
Block Bad Content
You can limit the websites your kids and older family members can visit. Here’s how:
- Open the Mobile Security app.
- Choose Web Guard, then select VPN Settings.
- Tap Trend Micro Parental Controls.
- Choose your kid’s age:
- Teen
- Pre-Teen
- Child
- Custom
Trend Micro has rules for each age group:
- ☑ - Blocked
- ⿱ - Some contents are blocked but not all
- ☐ - Allowed
- Set up a 4-digit key, called a Parent Key. You will need this key if they try to visit blocked websites.
Check Blocked Websites
You can see which websites have been blocked:
- Open the Mobile Security app.
- Tap on Web Guard, then tap Blocked Websites.
- You will see a list of websites your child tried to visit that Web Guard blocked.
