This guide walks you through activating Trend Micro Security on Windows, whether you’re activating for the first time or switching to a new activation code.

Before You Begin

  • Have your Activation Code ready: You’ll enter it during activation. If you can’t find it, use this guide to locate your activation code.
  • Your Trend Micro Account: You’ll sign in or create one during activation.
  • Windows version: Trend Micro Security supports Windows 10 (version 22H2) and Windows 11 (including ARM‑based) or later.
  • Stable internet connection

Method 1 — First‑Time Activation (New Subscription/License)

  1. Open the Trend Micro Activation Portal and click Get Started.

  3. Create or sign in to your Trend Micro Account using your email or phone number.
    • For new account, complete your profile then click Next.
    • For existing account, click Next to proceed.

  4. Enter your Activation Code, accept the License Agreement, then click Next.

  6. Fill out the details for auto-renew enrollment as part of the activation process.
  7. NOTE: You won’t be charged for the auto-renewal enrollment.

  8. After successful activation, you’ll be redirected to your Downloads page to install the apps you purchased.

Method 2 — Activate Inside the Trend Micro App (Already Installed)

If Trend Micro Security is already installed on your device but not yet activated, or you need to change your activation code. Follow the steps below:

  1. Open Trend Micro on your PC and click the expiry date shown at the bottom right corner of the main window.

  3. In Subscription Information window, select Change your Activation Code.

  5. Enter the new activation code and follow the prompts. The app will refresh your license details when done.
