What is Auto Renew?

Auto Renewal is a convenient service that automatically extends your subscription for another year before it expires. Trend Micro subscriptions are set to Auto Renew when you purchase them through our online store.

Note: If you are subscribed to auto renewal, you will be charged up to 15 days before the expiry date.

Did you see a "Payment Authorization Failed" error?

This error occurs if your credit card is blocking the payment from going through to Trend Micro.

Contact your bank right away to report the issue and request authorization of the Trend Micro charge.

How Do I Set Up Auto Renewal?

  1. After installing and activating your Trend Micro apps, log in to your Trend Micro Account in https://account.trendmicro.com/ with your email address and password.
  2. Click the Licenses tab, then click the Set up Auto Renew button next to your existing subscription.

How Do I Check the Auto Renewal Price?

To find the Auto Renewal price for your Trend Micro subscription, check your email Inbox for the Auto Renewal Email Reminder.

NOTE: If you can’t find the Auto Renewal Email Reminder, check your Spam or Junk email folders as well.

How Will My Subscription Be Automatically Renewed?

Your subscription will renew automatically without any action required from you. Before it expires, you'll get an email detailing the amount and date of the charge. If you want to cancel, you can do so by clicking the links in the email. The charge will be made on the same credit card you used for the original purchase. After successful renewal, you'll receive a confirmation email. Your Trend Micro software will be automatically renewed, and you won't need a new activation code. Your license will be extended seamlessly, ensuring continuous protection without any additional steps from you.

How Do I Cancel Auto Renewal?

You can cancel your subscription through https://account.trendmicro.com/ if you purchased it online. If it was an in-app purchase, you can cancel it on the Play Store or App Store. For more information, you can click on this link:

    • What Happens To My Subscription If I Cancel My Auto-Renewal Plan?

    You'll still get the service for the time you've already paid for. For monthly subscriptions, cancelling means it won't renew next month, but you'll keep the service until then. For annual subscriptions, cancelling means it won't renew next year, but you'll keep the service for the rest of the current year.

    Why Charged for a Higher Price?

    The price difference is due to online prices depending on current promotions, while your account is on an automatic renewal plan. Automatic renewals get a 10-15% discount, but online renewal prices can change based on available promotions.

    Why was I charged after canceling auto-renewal?

    Here are some reasons why you might still be charged after canceling your auto-renewal:

    • If you canceled close to the renewal date, it might not have processed in time.
    • If you didn’t get a confirmation email, your cancellation might not have been successful.
    • Check if you have multiple accounts or subscriptions — you may have canceled the wrong one.
    • A technical issue could have prevented the cancellation from processing correctly.

    To make sure your auto-renewal is canceled:

    • Check for confirmation emails about the cancellation.
    • Log in to your Trend Micro account to verify your subscription status.
    • Contact Trend Micro support with your account details for help or a possible refund.

    Why am I still being asked for billing information after paying successfully?

    Trend Micro will ask for your billing information to set up your subscription with Auto Renewal, so you won’t have to worry about renewing it every year.

    NOTE: If you don’t want to provide your billing information to set up the Auto Renewal, you can simply close the window.

    Do I need to Re-install after Auto-Renewal?

    If Trend Micro program is already installed after renewal, you don’t need to reinstall. Your subscription will be extended automatically—just ensure it’s up to date.
